My name got called to do a speech out the front on the stage for graduation and that’s when I got butterflies in my tummy. I slowly walk up the stairs so I wouldn’t fall. My legs were shaking and my hands were full with sweat, all I had to do is my best. I started my speech and then it just improved as I go because I got more confident. When I was reading my speech I look up, I read it clear, not too fast and even made my mum and dad cry so I think I did well. I was full of excitement and so proud of myself. Finally, it was Tara’s turn, she did so well and her speech was written well. After I was done, so many people came up to me and said I did great and that made me feel so good about myself. My mum and dad said “Fantastic job you did good”. All the hours practicing paid out at the end.
Happy graduation class of 2016!
Last week, I had to teach small group about my passion, how to become a professional cook. So we had to plan a lesson to teach them about our passion, originally I was going to go in the kitchen to cook but I through of a better idea. To make tick tock tea cups and do a quiz.
At the start I make everyone go and wash your hands. Them the fun part start I make 28 tick tock tea cups for the class but my kids in my class had to make their own so I have all the ingredients that they need,
- tick tock biscuits
- half of a life save
- a chocolate freckle
- icing to clue it all together.
They make them and they look great. Them we have a quiz. I have the post from my blog printed out and they could read it but only for 30 seconds it after that I ask questions and the first person to get 3 questions right get two tick tock tea cups. Then we did a reflection on our effort.
Everyone was having a go and listening so well I don’t think I got of got a better class. The one thing I found hard was teacher the students and not just telling them. I loved how everyone learnt something new.
Have you ever made a tick tock tea cup?
Have you read my another blog post about how to become a professional cook?
Hello, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be sharing an explain everything, that Gracie (http://gracie6s.global2.vic.edu.au/ ) and I made, the first video is about how to get the area of an object. The second video is about how to get the perimeter of an object. Our teacher told us that we had to make an explain everything, about something that we had learnt this semester, so Gracie and I choose area and perimeter. I hope you enjoy these videos. 🙂 🙂

Hello everyone welcome back to my blog. Today I’m going to be sharing my infographic about Australia vs U.S.A. My infographic shows the difference between the people in Australia and the people in the U.S.A. I have a lot of cool and interesting facts on my infographic but the one that stands out for me is how many phones the U.S.A. have compared to Australia. It makes sense U.S.A. have more phones than Australia because the U.S.A. has around about 14 times larger population.
What was the one fact that stood out for you and why?
Today I am sharing this quote about resilience, one of our schools values. I chose this quote because, my goal is to work on resilience by, having a growth mindset. I have got a lot better with my positive mindset, but it’s not as strong in math. I think this quote shows great resilience.
Do you have a Favourite resilience quote? Please share.
Today I’m going to be talking about my passion project. So we had to choose a topic that we would research then teach the class about. For my passion project I chose how to become a professional cook. So when I am presenting to my class, I’m going into the kitchen at my school to teach them how to cook something. If you have any ideas or suggestions on what you would like to see, please leave them in the comments:]
Here are some things I have learnt about so far:
- There is a difference between a cook and a chef. The difference is a chef tells everyone what to do and a cook does what they are told. Also chef’s works in fancy restaurants, and cooks generally work in pubs, hospital kitchens and school canteens.
- The definition of a professional cook, is to prepare food and cook it and present it on a plate.
- You have to learn a lot to become a professional cook including understanding about work place health and safety, cooking techniques for lots of different foods, and practical skills to create tasty dishes.
- As a professional cook, you could get a job at hospitals, schools, pubs or cafes.
I hope you like it:] What would you choose if you had to do a passion project?
Disaster Downunder Showcase
I stand behind my table, I feel extremely overwhelmed as I see unfamiliar faces all around me. I can hear a buzz as people are sharing their knowledge about disasters. Some asked questions about bushfires and that’s when the nerves kicked in, but luckily I was prepared and knew the answers so all my studying paid off. Hundreds of eyes stared at my work. I have doubts in my head like, “Is my work good enough?” Then compliments were coming from left, right and centre. “I like your fire gauge”, “What a great bushfire poster”, “Did you make that?” relief comes to my mind, this isn’t so scary after all.

What did you think about my explanation text?
I am sharing this peice of writing because I am proud of it and it shows my knowledge of Black Saturday. I hope you enjoy.
Black Saturday bushfire
Black Saturday was a very devastating bushfire.
What caused Black Saturday?
On an extremely hot day in 2009 on the 7th of February Black Saturday started. A man dropped his cigarette butt out of his car window, and because it was 46 degrees outside and the winds were going 100km per hour. A fire started and just got bigger and bigger.
Who was affected in Black Saturday?
Unfortunately Black Saturday affected a lot of people, building and the environment. One hundred and seventy three people died, thousands of homes and other dwellings were destroyed and 414 people were injured. Black Saturday damaged 2,100 homes.
Dynamics of Black Saturday
On Black Saturday, the weather conditions on the day were the worst bushfire conditions ever recorded. Temperatures reached 46 degrees Celsius with winds going 100km per hour. Leading up to this day there were 2 months of extremely low rainfall and hot dry conditions.
Where was Black Saturday?
Black Saturday started at 11:47am. It started in Kilmore East on top of a rocky hill. The average speed of Black Saturday Bushfires were 12km per hour. However in some circumstances the fire travelled up to 600m per 30 seconds.
Recovery of Black Saturday
Research shows that people and communities are largely recovering well, after the upsetting Black Saturday bushfire.
Today I am sharing my folding fractions that I did in math. I learnt how to fold a square piece of paper into 1/3. I did it by folding my paper twice horizontally and thats how I got 1/3.
In this session we also learnt that its a lot easier to fold 1/2 and 1/4 because you just keep on folding it in half and half.
I rate myself a 5/5 because when I didn’t get it right the first time I kept on trying and trying and I put my best effort into my work to make it neat and easy to read and made sure the parts were the same size.
Next time I could improve on having a postive mind set because if I have a postive mind set my learning will go a lot further.

This book is great. I would have to say one of the best books I have ever read, because it hooks you in from the start of the book, so much that you don’t want to stop reading it. I would recommend this book to you if you like, comedy books and hate the dentist. Just to clarify that this book not a scary book, it’s a comedy book. I rate the book a 9/10 beacuse I really enjoyed it, and had fun reading it.
